Construction is now underway on YCO Cloud’s first data center located in Light Industry and Science Park IV in Malvar, Batangas. The purpose-built, 12MW TIA 942 Rated III and ISO 22237 certified data center with four data halls is designed to meet market demand for co-location, build-to-suit, enterprise, hyperscale, powered shell, and private data hall suites. Each 1,400 square meter data hall is designed to provide tenants with 3MW of critical IT load for a total of 12MW in Malvar One. The project has been conceived to provide an internationally consistent product based on a foundation of flexibility, reliability, customization, security, durability and sustainability.
“We’re raring to go, and the groundbreaking is just in time to take advantage of the summer months,” said Nik Ynchausti, YCO Cloud’s Chief Executive Officer. “We firmly believe this project will help support the Philippines as the next hub for hyperscale data centers in the region,” he added.
All of YCO Cloud’s local partners were present during the groundbreaking ceremony, namely Architect Jose Siao Ling, founder of JSLA Architects; David Consunji of D.M. Consunji Inc., Architect Senen Salvacion, President of Design Coordinates Inc., Richard Osmond, President of Science Park of the Philippines, and Mayor Cristina Cuevas-Reyes of Malvar. YCO Cloud’s Chairperson, Maria Teresa de Ynchausti, and Xavier Ortigas also attended the event.
During the ceremony, the YCO build team sealed a time capsule containing the day’s newspaper and the original plans of the facility to commemorate the milestone event. The time capsule will become part of the foundation of the facility as construction progresses.
Campus One is the first in the series of hyperscale, carrier-neutral, and Greenfield projects of YCO Cloud. A critical digital infrastructure company, YCO Cloud was formed to take advantage of the growing demand for data centers and digital infrastructure in the Philippines, particularly serving the greater Manila region.
The group is an affiliate of JJYnchausti Ventures, Inc., the Philippine family office of the Ynchausti family, which builds on the family’s long-standing reputation of originating and managing successful commercial and industrial enterprises throughout the country. YCO Cloud in turn has engaged CloudCenters, LLC, a San Francisco, CA US based data center advisor and developer, to guide this first project beginning early June 2021. The design team includes Gensler Architects, Syska MEP engineers, Thornton-Tomasetti structural engineers, and Manila-based JSLA Architects.
