YCO Cloud has tapped globally renowned professional services firm JLL to support its go-to-market strategy and engage the market for its leasing efforts in the Philippines. Leading the JLL team for YCO is Chris Street, who recently joined JLL as its Managing Director, Head of Data Centres for Asia Pacific.

“We’re happy to be working with JLL and Chris Street as we make our journey into the data center space. We spoke to a lot of folks when we were setting up and we received a lot of positive feedback on their work and service,” YCO Cloud CEO Nik de Ynchausti said. ”With their guidance, we were able to refine the type of product we wanted to offer to the market. Their expertise led us to decide that this product needs to be hyperscaler and wholesale-focused, an emergent need in the country,” Nik added.

Street brings over 20 years of data center and digital infrastructure experience across Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. Prior to joining JLL, he was responsible for strategic sales, marketing and environment, social and governance (ESG) activities at Princeton Digital Group, a global data center operator. At ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, he led the company’s Singapore launch and helped drive their worldwide expansion in various markets such as the UK, China, India and Thailand. He also brings experience from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and product management and business development expertise from Equinix, Switch and Data, AT&T and CERFnet.

Throughout his career, Street has worked with various not-for-profit organizations and industry associations. Currently, he is the Co-Chair of the Data Centre Committee at SGtech, the industry association that collaborates with various Singapore government agencies to address issues relevant to the wider Singapore technology industry.

Street was named one of the Top 50 Influential Marketers in the Data Economy (2020) and was recognized as one of the Top 50 Data Centre and Cloud Influencers in the Asia Pacific region (2018).

Chris expressed optimism about the future of the data center industry in the Philippines, and addressed concerns about saturation. “In the Philippines, there is a significant domestic market which is fantastic for long-term growth and stability of digital infrastructure. We are seeing notable growth in Data Centres in the country. If you take into account its strategic location, YCO’s offering is very lucrative and promising,” he ends.
